In his early years great poet Li Bai was a talented but depressed young man who could only work in restaurants. By coincidence, Li Bai is ordered to investigate the case of the Flower Demon and travels around Chang'an with Yue Li, a wine maid by the Empress' side, searching for this creature. As the investigation progresses, Li Bai repeatedly uses his powers of deduction to find clues to his predicament and aids in averting danger with his extraordinary swordsmanship. His sidekick, Zhuang Dansheng, a strange warlock, and Hu Ji, a dancer, are all involved in the Flower Demon incident.
