Meanwhile, Kawatani (Hitoshi Ozawa) is attacked by a hitman sent by Watanabe, the former Kyowakai HQ chief plotting a comeback. Isolated within the executive ranks, Kijima confronts Watanabe but gradually wavers under his influence. Across Japan, tensions rise: in Kanto, Mita (Shun Sugata) and Wakamiya (Hideyuki Kawahara) move on land acquisitions tied to a casino bill; in Okinawa, internal strife erupts; in Shikoku, a boss's retirement sparks unrest.
