Three little children lost their parents in the war. However, a teenage girl was found who tried to save them. The children and their young teacher walk the difficult and dangerous roads of war. Between the three of them, they have only one hope for salvation and one toy - a battered hare. But children remain children even in terrible times. They are amused by the hare's funny dance on the ruins of a house, they draw the world on the scorched remains of walls, they joyfully ride through the empty city on a broken bicycle. And the hare, walking along the path with the kids, notices something that children's eyes should never see.
