Seen by many as a transitional album Momentary lapse was really the creation of Dave Gilmour as he tried to pull the band back together in a sea of acrimony. It may have received mixed reviews from the critics, but the album went on to hit Quadruple Platinum and created the platform for a hugely successful world tour.
